So many parents make this costly mistake when it comes to aftercare planning for their young adult child. You get lulled into thinking everything is finally back to normal. When you go to visit your child they finally seem back to their old selves, and they promise they’ll go to see a counselor and attend 12 step meetings everyday.
You’ve been fighting with them for so long, and you just don’t want to fight anymore, so you give in (even though the treatment center is recommending your child go into a sober living environment).
