Caution! DIY Interventions can be Dangerous.

A family intervention to convince a loved one to enter addiction treatment at a rehab center may seem like the best course of action. But will it cause more harm than good?

Before you try to talk to someone about going to addiction treatment, you need to have a strategy. You should have treatment lined up. You need to have family members on board with the intervention, and you need to have contingency plans for everything!

You mean well, but this message often gets lost when families come together to stage an intervention themselves, and the results can be dangerous!

This is not to say interventions are ineffective. They are highly effective if done in the right way! Which is why it's so important to have a professionally trained addiction specialist or interventionist assist you.

At Hope For Families, we teach families a process we call the invisible intervention. We coach them throughout the whole process. If you'd like to learn more, check out the video!
