After a lot of heartache and pain, you're loved one has decided to get sober. You're cautiously optimistic and want them to do whatever is necessary to maintain their recovery. Even though you know that it's ultimately up to them, there are things that families do sometimes that will sabotage their loved one's early recovery.

  • Micromanage their recovery

  • Don't get back on the rollercoaster with them

  • Don't be negative

  • Don't baby them

  • Don't constantly talk about recovery
