Mitchell Tenpenny Got It Right When He Said, "Drunk Me Can't Get Over You"

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

Drinking or using drugs through your heartache may seem like a good way of numbing the pain, but is it actually helping? Drinking after a breakup or any trauma in your life can increase your chances of doing things you might not want to do.

The song I'm talking about in this video is about a breakup and he gets sober because the drunk part of him can't get over his heartache. Alcohol, in particular, will keep you stuck in all the past hurts bad memories and negative things that have ever happened to you. In fact, if you want to ensure that you don't get over past traumas, breakups, and heartbreak then make sure you keep drinking. Not only can you not grieve it and get over it because you're pouring a substance on top but drinking helps you to relive those bad things that happened. You play it over and over in your head and it keeps it fresh and alive so you don't gain healing from it.

One more excellent reason to get sober!
