SHOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE ELSE THEIR KID IS USING DRUGS?

SHOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE ELSE THEIR KID IS USING DRUGS?

Written By: Amber Hollingsworth,LPC

This is a question I get frequently.  The scenerio usually goes something like this…

A parent catches their kid using drug with a friend.  They address it with their child of course, but aren’t sure if they should contact the other parents and let them know.

This is a touchy subject, and must be handled with caution.  Sometimes trying to do the right thing can backfire.  Many parents say “if it where me, I’d want someone to tell me”, but in reality, most people aren’t very receptive to this information.  Check out the video to find out what Amber has to say on the subject.

I’d love to hear from people who have some experience with this issue.
