Sure, lots of teenagers and college students experiment with drugs and alcohol, and many of them party pretty heavily, but there's definitely a difference between teenage drug and alcohol abuse and addiction.


Many college kids may drink so much that they'd definitely qualify for an alcohol use disorder, but there are clear distinctions in the patterns of someone crossing the threshold from experimentation into addiction. This video lists 10 warning signs that may suggest your son or daughter is moving out of an experimental phase and moving towards addiction.


While some of these warning signs may seem like normal teenage behaviors, others definitely indicate red flags. Be sure to watch the whole video, as warning signs #9 and #10 can offer certain clarity to any parent on the fence, wondering when to take action.
