In this video Amber Hollingsworth interviews pharmacist Jan Childs about Naloxone.
Naloxone (also known as Narcan) is a medication called an “opioid antagonist” used to counter the effects of opioid overdose, for example morphine and heroin overdose.
It's now possible to get Naloxone from your local pharmacy. It isn't over the counter but the pharmacists can give you a prescription for the medication. Hope For Families encourages everyone to have Naloxone in their emergency kit/supplies. This medication can save a life.
We'll also cover reasons to have this on hand for a precautionary measures.
