Updated: Mar 9, 2020

This video is a must-watch for anyone who has lived with addiction in their home. Betrayal trauma can be best explained like this--think of it as if you just found out you had been cheated on by your spouse for weeks, months, or years. You'd start thinking about the past, trying to make sense of the present, and going over and over in your mind wondering why, where and how these problems started and how you got to this point.

Only in this case, we're talking about how the addiction that took over your life.

Our brains are hard-wired to keep us protected, to identify danger and send us warning signals. What is often labeled as codependency is actually our brain trying to look for security and make sense of our reality.

This video will explain all of the trauma you experience from living with an addict or alcoholic. Please watch this video, I think you'll find it VERY helpful.
